Getting to know the person behind Mindprint Psychology
Meet Your Psychologist
Caroline Rutkowski | Clinical Psychologist
Caroline has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and their families across hospital, community, and educational settings. She has worked at The Royal Children’s Hospital within the adolescent mental health inpatient unit and currently works in an Infant and Child Mental Health outpatient service. She also works as an assessor with the Students with Disabilities Assessment Service, conducting cognitive assessments to determine whether children and young people meet criteria for Intellectual Developmental Disorder. In addition, Caroline has worked across a range of educational settings, including primary schools, secondary schools, and specialist and alternative education settings.
Caroline understands that assessments can sometimes feel unfamiliar or overwhelming for children and young people. She makes every effort to create a warm, comfortable, and neuroaffirming environment, bringing flexibility, humour, and a child-centred approach to the assessment process. For Caroline, an assessment is about much more than scores or a diagnosis.
She is passionate about understanding the whole child - their individual strengths, the areas they may find challenging, and the factors that influence how they learn, communicate, and experience the world around them. Families and carers are valued as an important part of the assessment process and are included every step of the way. Caroline’s goal is for families to leave the assessment with a clearer understanding of their child, practical recommendations, and greater confidence in how they - and the people around their child - can provide meaningful support to help them thrive.
